We protected farmers’ interests while adhering to court requirements, thanks to significant rain

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar stated on Saturday that the state administration was able to preserve farmers’ interests while following to court rulings on the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu due to recent significant rains in the region.

He predicted that the Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) near Mysuru would be full in a few days, allowing water to flow into Tamil Nadu. “Water has already been released into the canals, and we will take the required procedures to refill tanks to assist farmers. Farmers must exercise caution while planting paddy since we cannot predict how much water will be available in the future.

Shivakumar told reporters at the KPCC office in Bengaluru that the decision would be made following consultations with the Agriculture Department. “We have suspended boats in the Ranganathittu bird sanctuary as a preventative measure. A red alert has been issued for all areas along the river, as water may be discharged from KRS at any time.

There have been some casualties in the State’s coastal districts as a result of landslides; our MLAs and party leaders are in charge of rescue and relief efforts,” Shivakumar stated. Referring to Union Minister Kumaraswamy’s travel to Ankola and other rain-affected districts, he asked, “How would Kumaraswamy’s visit benefit the rain-affected people? He hasn’t arrived with CRPF or anything to help. Our MLAs have already visited the landslide scene.

“Allow Kumaraswamy to visit these places. But let’s not get political over rain disasters,” he said. When asked about the government taking back the money provided to all Corporations, he stated, “This was an effort to bring openness in Corporations, and we informed Corporation chairmen about this move. There were some crooks in the system throughout the BJP’s era, and they have continued into our period as well.

D group employees have been appointed as managing directors of various corporations; we will look into these issues. The Finance section will handle all of their finances.” When asked about the meeting with district and block-level Congress party workers, he stated, “We need to restructure the party at the block level.

The incumbent presidents have worked for the party for a long period and deserve to be rewarded. We must prepare for the possibility that the Court will grant permission to hold elections at any time. We have convened a meeting of all district and block levels today to examine these issues. Those office bearers who are not involved in party activities will be dismissed.

Speaking to reporters following the event, the DCM stated, “We have issued directives to form committees. Party members will be given preference in nominations to various committees. The nominations will be based on social justice.” The Deputy Chief Minister said a committee has been created under the supervision of Home Minister G Parameshwara. We received 7000-8000 applications. We have directed the committee to examine strong candidates from the villages even if they have not applied,” he stated.
