Senthil Pandian C, the Excise Commissioner for Uttar Pradesh, made public the government’s instruction through an official announcement. With effect from December 24 and December 31, all liquor stores that sell both Indian and English alcohol are now allowed to stay open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. This is a particularly significant extension of business hours because it falls on Christmas and New Year’s Day. The state’s liquor stores are normally open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., but on these two holidays, the government has extended business hours until 11 p.m. It’s important to remember that this extension is only temporary and only pertains to the designated days of December 24 and 31 December.
