BENGALURU: A private company employee who had, on the morning of September 12, escaped after kissing a student inside a KSRTC bus near Peenya has been arrested.
The accused, Madhusudhan Reddy, is a resident of Vijayanagar and from Ballari. On September 12, a 24-year-old student had filed a complaint with Peenya police, accusing an unidentified man of kissing her before getting down from the vehicle at KSRTC bus terminal in Peenya. The victim and the suspect were co-passengers in the bus that had travelled from Ballari to Bengaluru. “The man was staring at me right from the beginning of our journey and I did not pay much attention to him. Meanwhile, the bus reached Peenya terminal by 5.30am and the miscreant, who was heading towards the door, kissed me and got down,” the complainant had stated.
“We carried out investigation in two ways — one team collected CCTV footage from the bus terminal and another collected details about the accused from the KSRTC driver and conductor. The accused had booked ticket online, which helped us in reaching his home,” an investigating officer said.
The student too identified the suspect. Reddy was produced before court, which remanded him in 14-days judicial custody.
