sriki: Sriki walks out of Bengaluru jail, calls scam bogus | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU: Alleged hacker Srikrishna Ramesh alias Sriki, 26, on Wednesday termed the bitcoin scandal that has been making headlines ‘nuisance’ and ‘bogus’.
Speaking to media outside Central Prison (Parappana Agrahara), after walking out on bail in a drug consumption case, Sriki said, “There is nothing in the bitcoin issue. It is all nuisance and bogus. The matter is in court.”
Sriki described the bitcoin scam as media hype. Reports about involvement of the sons of some big political leaders in the bitcoin scam, allegedly perpetrated by Sriki, have been doing the rounds.
Asked why people like former chief minister Siddaramaiah are linking him to the scam, Sriki smilingly said: “Big people take big names.”
Sriki is said to have hacked into poker gaming websites and extorted money. CCB sleuths filed an 800-page chargesheet against Sriki and others, explaining his hacking adventures.
On the night of November 6, Sriki was arrested on drug consumption charges from a star hotel in Domlur. Since then, he was in judicial custody. Police had also arrested his friend, Vishnu Bhat, 25, who’s from a business family dealing in jewels, on similar charges. Bhat is in police custody.
On Tuesday, a local magistrate court granted Sriki bail. Asked about the three laptops he is said to have used for the alleged hacking operations, he replied: “None of them are working.” Explaining the incident at the star hotel, Sriki said: “That guy came to my room and created a ruckus.” It was not clear who was the “that guy” he was referring to.
About his father’s health, Sriki said he is getting better. Sriki’s father is undergoing treatment at a hospital for the injuries he sustained after falling from the staircase of their Jayanagar home. Sriki had been staying at the hotel, close to the hospital, for 55 days.
