BENGALURU: A teenager was rescued by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel on Friday after an alleged suicide attempt at Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna station. The boy was counselled and reunited with his parents.
South Western Railway sources here said the incident unfolded on Friday evening after a man approached the ‘Nanhe Faristeh’ team of the RPF at the KSR Bengaluru City railway station entrance and informed them that his nephew, a 16-year-old boy, was missing from home. The man told the officers that the boy had sent a video on the cellphone and he appeared to be contemplating suicide. The video showed the boy under a train.
The team identified that the teen was on the premises of the City Railway station; photographs of the boy and the video were circulated on WhatsApp to RPF staff at the station. The staff split into six teams to locate the boy, who was soon found under a coach of Bengaluru City-New Delhi Express Special train. The boy was counselled and handed over to his parents.
