Rowdy hacked to death in front of kin

A 40-year-old rowdy was hacked to death inside a bank in Koramangala 8th block on Monday. The victim, identified as Babli, was a resident of a slum in Rajendranagar. He had gone to the Union Bank with his wife and daughter.

According to the police, around eight men armed with lethal weapons barged into the bank and repeatedly stabbed Babli till he died. The police suspect the motive is personal rivalry and that some other rowdy had hired the contract killers.

His wife and daughter are said to have witnessed the murder. Staffers inside the bank and customers panicked at the sight but no one dared to interfere with the gang when they killed Babli. The bank officials informed the police who rushed to the spot and inspected the crime scene.

The Koramangala police have registered a case of murder and are tracing the assailants on the basis of CCTV camera footage.

The police stated that though Babli was a history-sheeter at Adugodi police station, his records were clean since 2011. Though Babli considered himself a reformed man, other rowdies were nurturing grudges against him, cops added.
