Night Curfew in Bangalore: Night curfew extended in Bengaluru till October 25 | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU: Although new Covid-19 cases have been falling and the positivity rate is low, authorities are taking no chances, especially now that the festive season is on.
On Tuesday, police commissioner Kamal Pant extended prohibitory orders and night curfew in Bengaluru city till October 25.
However, prohibitory orders clamped under section 144 of CrPC will be relaxed in places like railway stations, the airport and bus terminals. Night curfew will be in place from 10pm to 5am.
“Anyone violating these instructions will be liable for prosecution under provisions of section 5l to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005, section 188 of IPC and sections 4, 5 and 10 of Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Act 2020,” a circular issued from the city police commissioner’s office stated.
However, hotels, pubs and restaurants have been excluded from purview of the ban order.
The positivity rate in the state has been below 0.5% over the past seven days. It is higher than the state average in only two districts – Hassan and Chikkamagaluru (both 1%).
