Mangaluru: Swimming pools not to open for public till February, says minister | Mangaluru News – Times of India

MANGALURU: District minister Kota Shrinivas Poojari said swimming pools will not open for public till February.
He urged people not to panic about the possibilities of a second wave and advised them to be cautious and not let their guard down.
“While swimming pools will not open till February next year, a decision to open schools will be taken after analysing the situation in the last week of December. Since there are possibilities of a second wave, restrictions will be in place for festivals, religious ceremonies and public meetings. Those who have already obtained permissions may hold weddings with 100 participants, public meetings with 200 participants and funerals with 25 persons,” Poojari said.
“The government has directed districts to set up war rooms. Dakshina Kannada will continue to conduct 3,350 tests per day. The district administration has been directed to reserve beds in general wards, ICUs, ventilators and ambulances. Covid Care centres may be opened under PPP mode to provide better service in the district,” the minister said.
