Live-in partner’s relatives kill electrician in Bengaluru | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU: An electrician was hacked to death by family members of his live-in partner at Rajagopalnagar, near Peenya, on Tuesday afternoon.
N Chetan, 29, lived with Bhoomika Narayan from Kunigal taluk in Tumakuru district. Her family opposed the live-in relationship since she was already married. When Chetan was celebrating his 30th birthday on Tuesday, the suspects entered his house on the pretext of wishing him and hacked him to death, police said.
Married to farmer Narayan in 2019, Bhoomika eloped with Chetan in December 2020 and threatened her family members of filing a police complaint for opposing their live-in relationship. She even threatened Narayan that she would file a dowry-harassment case if she was forced to return to him, police said.
Bhoomika’s younger brother Akash Kumar, 19, cab driver from Magadi Road; her uncle Nanjesh, assistant in a hotel in Kamakshipalya; first cousin Dilip, 20, flower vendor from Kunigal, were detained for the murder.
“The trio entered Chetan’s house around 1.45pm. Nanjesh pulled out a machete he had hid inside his shirt. Akash and Dilip caught hold of Chetan and Nanjesh hit him on the neck and chest,” a police officer said.
