KSRTC employees’ salary will be released in 3 days: Laxman Savadi | Mangaluru News – Times of India

MANGALURU: Deputy chief minister and minister for transport Laxman Savadi said that the pending salary of more than 1.25 lakh staff working in the four state road transport corporations will be released within three to four days.
The minister told reporters here on Saturday that employees need not panic. “All employees will get a full month salary for January. We have already paid full month salary to all employees availing grants from the state government till November last year. Meanwhile, we have paid a half month salary for December due to the financial crunch. Salaries of the employees were paid utilising the Rs 1,760 crore funds sanctioned by the government. Maintenance work also had to be taken in four corporations from the sanction,” he said.
On various demands of the KSRTC employees, the minister said, “Very soon, we will fulfil nine out of 10 demands they have made. The government has formed a committee to discuss demands of the employees. Discussions have already begun. The government has already made it very clear that one of their demands to consider them as government employees cannot be fulfilled.”
To a query, the minister said the government has no plans to merge four state transport corporations.
Later, at a party workers meet at BJP office, the minister said that the state will witness a sea of developments after the budget. “It is true that the state has suffered setbacks due to natural calamities and Covid-19. It has hit the state hard when it comes to development works. With the nation showing signs of economic recovery, development works expected to be expedited after the budget. Along with the aims of strengthening the party base, the BJP government will also focus on development of the state,” he added.
