Kodagu villagers suffer without veterinary doctors | Mysuru News – Times of India

MADIKERI: Dairy farmers in several Kodagu villages are left in the lurch without a single veterinary doctor at the veterinary centres since five years.
No doctor has been appointed at the centres in seven villages – Shirangala, Hebbale,Torenuru, Kudige,Koodumangaluru, Seegehosuru and Aluvara that have 40 sub villages – in the last five years despite several appeals.
Milk producing societies are actively working in Torenuru, Hebbale,Shirangala, Aluvara Siddalingapura,Koodumangaluru and Chikkathuru villages with active cooperation from the villagers. They own hundreds of cows in these villages. In case of health issues or in order to get regular medical check-up for the cows, the farmers have to hire vehicles to ferry them to Kushalnagar or Somwarpet taluk headquarters which is a financial burden.
The villagers have yet again submitted a memorandum to the MLA and concerned officers to resolve the issue soon.
