Karnataka: Group donates safety kits to students | Bengaluru News – Times of India


BENGALURU: A group of corporate organisations came together to donate face shields and health kits to thousands of students and teachers in government schools, after they opened this week following the nine month pandemic-induced break.
The donations were part of Embassy Group’s ‘Corporate Connect Programme’ and came in association with Cerner, Swiss Re Foundation and Cognizant. Together, the group donated 22,500 health kits to 19,200 students across the country and 1,47,440 nutritional supplements to 3,560 students in Karnataka. The kit, aimed at safeguarding against Covid-19, contained santiser, bath soaps, washing soap, re-usable cloth masks, shampoo, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a tongue cleaner, a nail cutter and a comb.
The group has also agreed to clean, sanitise and maintain 17 government schools in Bengaluru. It conducted extensive repairs and renovations at 10 government schools in Bengaluru and donated 5,949 face shields across 126 state-run schools in the city.
KS Vinoda, headmistress, Government Higher Primary School, Vasanthnagar, said activities carried out by the group helped children attend Vidyagama classes safely.
