Karnataka Covid unlock news live: 28 doctors died of Covid, but no govt relief yet

The Karnataka government has released standard operating procedures (SOP) for holding SSLC exams in the third week of July, allowing students with symptoms or Covid too to write the exams. The Karnataka government may consider introducing more relaxations as all 30 districts have recorded the Covid test positivity rate (TPR) of less than 10% for the first time after the second wave hit the state in early April. Twenty-eight doctors across Karnataka succumbed to the virus during the second wave of Covid-19, but none of their families has received insurance relief earmarked by the government for healthcare workers. In the wake of the Delta-plus variant of the novel coronavirus being detected in a patient in Mysuru and many other patients in other states across the country, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has decided to conduct genomic sequencing of 5% of Covid-19 positive samples.
