Karnataka Corona Cases: 84 new Covid-19 cases reported in Karnataka, total touches 1231 | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU: Karnataka on Monday recorded 84 fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday, its highest ever in 24 hours, taking the total number of infected in the state to 1231.
Eighteen of the new cases are from Bengaluru, 17 Mandya, eight Uttara Kannada, six each Raichur and Kalaburagi, five each Vijayapura, Gadag and Yadgir, four Hassan, three Koppal, two Belagavi, and one each Bidar, Davanagere, Ballari, Kodagu, and Mysuru.
Raichur and Koppal are reporting Covid-19 cases for the first time. With this, 27 of the 30 districts have reported Covid-19 cases. Ramanagara, Chikkmagaluru and Chamarajnagar districts are yet to report any cases.
Sixteen of the 18 Bengaluru cases are from Shivajinagar and are all of contacts of a hotel employee who had tested positive last month.
Twenty six of the newly-infected are women. Twelve of the fresh cases are children with the youngest being a six-month-old girl from Kalaburagi who had returned from Mumbai.
Of the total 84 cases, 60 have history of travel, including 56 who returned from Maharashtra. Twenty-one new patients are contacts of Covid-19 patients. No contact or exposure has been established in case of two individuals who tested positive in the containment zone of Gadag. One 61-year-old man from Ballari who showed symptoms of severe acute respiratory infection and tested positive for Covid-19.
