Kannada poet Lakshminarayana Bhatta dies aged 85 | Mysuru News – Times of India
Bhatta who pursued his masters in Mysuru has written over 50 books.
He has brought several works of William Shakespeare, Yeats, Eliot etc.
He also translated several Sanskrit books, including plays into Kannada.
Born in Shivamogga in the year 1936 he was staying at Banashankari.
Kannada Sahithya Parishat president Manu Baligar condoled the demise of the poet.
“He was known as NSL in the Kannada literally world. He has written in Kannada, English and Sanskrit,” Baligar said.
His famous poems include Nee Sigade Balondu Baale, Elli Jaritho Manavu, Banni Bavagale Banni.
Bhatta’s last rites were performed in Bengaluru.
