BENGALURU: The farmers on Tuesday protested peacefully in Bengaluru. Earlier on Monday, the police had denied permission for tractor march but then they allowed 125 tractors to enter the city.
The tractors were permitted to enter from different entry points like Nelamangala, KR Puram, Kengeri, Bannerghatta road and Devanahalli. Many farmers were seen entering in their private vehicles and cabs. As many as 25,000 people are expected to gather near Freedom park to mark their rejection of the farm bills. The police detained some protesters trying to head towards Rajbhavan and Vidhana Soudha.
There were no traffic jams in the city but the movement of vehicles was slow in different parts. Traffic police said there was no traffic jams or bottlenecks till afternoon, owing to the fact that Tuesday was a government holiday. However, the traffic may get affected by late afternoon as more vehicles and protesters will head towards Freedom park.
