Eshwarappa issue will be sorted out in 2 days: Nalin Kumar Kateel | Mangaluru News – Times of India

MANGALURU: BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel asserted that he is confident of sorting out the issues related to rural development and panchayat raj minister K S Eshwarappa writing to Governor Vajubhai Vala, accusing Yediyurappa of interfering in his department, within two days.
Kateel told reporters here on Friday that it will require two days for him to hold discussions with Eshwarappa and others to sort out the issue. He expressed confidence that the Eshwarappa issue in no way will affect the bye-elections. “The BJP will win the bye-elections in Belgaum Lok Sabha constituency and assembly constituencies of Basavakalyan and Maski,” he said.
“We will speak to all MLAs of the party. BJP national general secretary (in charge of Karnataka) Arun Singh has already spoken on the issue. I am confident that the issue will be sorted out after speaking to Eshwarappa and others individually. He is a senior leader and the minister in the government. Hence, we have to discuss with him too. He has written letters to all of us and the same letter has been given to the Governor too,” Kateel said.
On former chief minister Siddaramaiah reacting sharply to K S Eshwarappa’s letter to governor, Kateel recalled the instance of Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi trashing an ordinance to save convicted legislators from disqualification of the UPA government in 2013. “This (KSE issue) is not as much embarrassing an issue as that of Rahul Gandhi tearing the ordinance of UPA government led by the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh,” Kateel said.
Further, taunting at KPCC president D K Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah, Kateel said a street fight is going on between the two Congress leaders over the next chief minister’s post. “Siddaramaiah has already tweeted that he is the next chief minister. Meanwhile, Shivakumar has opposed it. When there is fire in Congress, the smoke in BJP is not an issue,” he added.
On the sleaze CD case related to former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, Kateel said, “I cannot comment or mention anyone’s name since the case is under investigation, which will bring truth to light.”
On Vijayapura BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal – chief minister B S Yediyurappa feud, Kateel said the party has already been served show cause notice and his reply is awaited.
