DRDO scientist’s house burgled

Thieves broke into a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) scientist’s house in CV Raman Nagar and made off with valuables worth Rs 17 lakh. The incident took place between December 23 and December 27.

Magesh G, 37, has been working as a scientist with the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) at DRDO for the past 15 years and has been living a duplex in CV Raman Nagar over the past one year.

According to the police, on December 23, Magesh and his wife left home to visit their relative in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, and returned to Bengaluru on Sunday night, December 27, at around 9.30 pm. On arrival, they found their entire house ransacked with gold, silver, cash and other valuables worth Rs 16,97,536 missing.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the burglars had sneaked in through a passageway on the terrace of a bedroom and cut the grills to gain entry into the house.

They broke open the bedroom door and entered the house.

All the cupboards and almirahs in the house were broke open. According to Magesh’s complaint, gold weighing 467.5 gm and 586.87 gm of silver articles and cash of Rs 26,000 was stolen from the house. The Byappanahalli police have registered a case of burglary and further investigations are currently underway.
