Diganth Manchale: CCB grills Diganth Manchale and Aindrita Ray for 4 hours, seizes their phones | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU: Kannada actor-couple Diganth Manchale and Aindrita Ray were on Wednesday questioned for four hours by Central Crime Branch (CCB) in connection with the high-profile drug-peddling racket allegedly involving Sandalwood stars.
Police had on Tuesday issued notices to the couple, directing them to appear before CCB. The questioning was based on digital evidences including photos, videos and mobile messages, sources said.
CCB sources confirmed the couple’s mobile phones were seized to retrieve data and other information. “We’ve told them to appear before us whenever they are summoned in future,” joint commissioner of police Sandeep Patil said.
Reaching the CCB headquarters at Chamarajpet in an SUV at 10.45am, the couple was taken to the first floor. After giving them a ‘break’ of nearly 10 minutes, they were taken to different rooms. Two inspectors grilled Diganth, while a woman inspector questioned Aindrita.
“They have attended many parties where we suspect drugs were used rampantly, and the couple knew about it. Their statements will strengthen our investigation,” an officer said.
Addressing media persons outside his residence in RR Nagar later, Diganth said: “We have answered their all questions and are cooperating with the ongoing investigation. Police have directed us to appear before them in future and we’ll do so whenever we are called. They’ve directed us not to share details of the investigation .”
Hearing on bail pleas

A local court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of anticipatory bail petitions filed by drug-peddling case accused Shivaprakash and Vinay Kumar to September 19. They have been named in the FIR registered in Cottonpet police station.
The bail plea of party planner Viren Khanna, actress Ragini Dwivedi, suspected peddlers Aditya Agarwal and Rahul Tonse too were postponed for September 19. Special public prosecutors Veerendra G Tigadi is appearing for CCB in the bail petitions filed by Aditya Agarwal and Viren Khanna in the Banaswadi case. CA Ravindra is representing CCB against Viren Khanna, Ragini Dwivedi, and Rahul Tonse in the Cottonpet case.
