Covid-19: BBMP suspends licences of 19 hospitals | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU: The BBMP on Thursday suspended licences of 19 hospitals in south zone for failing to reserve 50% of beds for Covid patients, following an official inspection of the establishments, reports Kiran Parashar.
Dr Shivakumar, south zone health officer, said they have filed complaints against the hospitals under Section 58 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005. Banners have been put up in front of the hospitals about the licence suspension, he added.
BBMP chief N Manjunatha Prasad told TOI, “We have booked cases against hospital CEOs or owners. The hospitals will function as usual. The patients can avail the treatment and facilities.”
The hospitals are Anugraha Vittala hospital, Vinayaka hospital, Prashanth hospital and Radhakrishna hospital (in Basavanagudi subdivision); Gurushree hospital, Kalabhaireshwara hospital, Padmashree hospital, Maruthi hospital (Vijayanagar subdivision); Promed hospital, NU hospital, Deepak hospital, Sevakshetra hospital and Udbhava hospital (Padmanabhanagar subdivision); Gangothri hospital, Acura hospital and Karanth hospital (BTM Layout subdivision) and HCG cancer hospital, Trinity hospital and Maiya hospital (Chickpet subdivision)
