Bengaluru: Teen held for murdering aunt after affair with her | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU: A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on the suspicion of murdering his 28-year-old aunt with whom he allegedly had an affair.
The accused teenager, on being questioned by police, said his aunt wanted to elope with him. When he resisted, she attacked him with scissors, which he snatched from her hand and stabbed her.
The woman was found murdered in her house at Banashankari III Stage on Tuesday evening. Neighbours called the police control room after seeing thick plumes of smoke coming out of the house.
After breaking the door, police found the homemaker dead in a pool of blood in the hall. She bore around 15 stab wounds. A half-burnt bedsheet indicated the killer had set the cloth on fire, hoping the blaze would destroy the house as well as the body. The fire died out on its own and the smoke kept rising, police said.
The woman’s two sons were not at home. Her husband, who returned from work, told police he had a fight with her in the morning as he had come to know about her affair with his minor nephew. “He sent his sons to his grandparents’ place as he did not want to fight in front of them. Probe revealed the husband was present at his workplace when the murder took place. Then we found that the minor boy had come to meet the woman in the afternoon,” an officer said.
Cops said the boy told police his aunt wanted to elope with him. “Saying her husband had discovered their affair, she forced me to run away with her. I declined and she grew angry. She attacked me with scissors, and snatching it from her hand, I stabbed her,” a police source quoted him as saying. “I set the bedsheet on fire and locked the house before fleeing,” he reportedly told police. The minor was sent to a juvenile home.
