The whimsical ways of BBMP officials in implementing containment zone protocols continue to frustrate residents of several pockets of Bengaluru.
* Update at 9.41am: Total Covid-19 cases in India stand at 15,83,792, including 5,28,242 active cases, 10,20,582 cured/discharged and 34,968 deaths: Health ministry (ANI)

*The Zoo Authority of Karnataka is struggling to maintain its parks and feed the animals because of a fund crunch resulting from a sharp fall in revenue. Zoo entry-fee collections have dropped from about Rs 60 crore last fiscal to Rs 50 lakh this year.

*Karnataka ended another day with over 5,000 fresh cases, taking its tally to 1,12,504 cases, while the total number of deaths jumped to 2,147 with 92 deaths in past 24 hours.
*Karnataka to scrap night curfew from August 1
*The Karnataka government is seriously considering a proposal that allows home delivery of liquor and kicked off extensive consultations with all stakeholders on Monday.
*The Common Entrance Test (CET) 2020 will be conducted as scheduled on Thursday and Friday, following the Karnataka high court decision on Wednesday declining to stay the exam.
