BENGALURU: A 37-year-old businessman has filed a complaint against four persons and a mobile app for allegedly cheating him and 44 others of over Rs 20 lakh, recently.
Madani Syed from KS Layout alleged that he came to know about the Super Like app through a friend on January 7 and joined the app, which promised good returns for liking photos and videos of celebrities. A deposit of Rs 50,000 was needed to become a member of the community.
Syed paid Rs 50,000 and started liking the photos and videos of celebrities. “Initially, I got Rs 8,000 as profit. Later, I stopped receiving profits. However, I received a message saying I would get it on March 3. When they failed to give money, I enquired about my deposit. That’s when I came to know that I had been blocked,” he stated. South CEN Crime police have named Sharma, Abdul, Kartoon, Ashok Kumar and owner of the Super Like app suspects.
