Bengaluru: 300 vaccination centres to administer from Monday | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is set to scale up vaccination from next week. The number of vaccination centres in the city will be touching 300 including over 150 private hospitals.
BBMP on Friday held a workshop for its workers in Town Hall.
Addressing the participants, Commissioner Manjunath Prasad said they are going to increase vaccination centres in the city and more number of private hospitals will be roped in from Monday.
“The 2nd phase of Covid vaccination started on March 1 and in the initial stages there were a few glitches during registration. They have been addressed and we want to vaccinate more number of people in the upcoming days,” Prasad said.
Starting next week, vaccination will be available for public in at least 141 primary health centres, 26 maternity hospitals, six referal hospitals and 107 private hospitals with more than 100 beds and about 50 hospitals with more than 50 beds.
As on Friday evening, according to Cowin portal, in 192 sites in Bengaluru Urban district, about 1,515 sessions were held and of the 65,098 registered beneficiaries, 50,299 were vaccinated.
The hospitals will have to have atleast reserve 2-3 rooms as waiting area and should be prepared with cold chain points to store the vaccines. There should an exclusive vaccination room, he added.
While managing the data has been a tough challenge for the war room, Prasad said that the patients’ contact numbers as well as the Covid vaccine staff’s contact numbers and names must be entered accurately. If someone fails to do so or provide false information, the hospital would be immediately dropped from giving vaccines.
