BENGALURU: A person accused in the Kammanahalli molestation case reported on New Year’s day in 2017, who was out on bail, and two others have been arrested on charges of murdering a pet dealer near Ramdev Garden in KG Halli.
George Chezlian G alias Pappi, the molestation case accused, his elder brother Jaralk Karthik and friend Daniel allegedly killed G Ravi Kumar on August 31. Chezlian and Karthik are from Kullappa Circle near Kammanahalli, while Daniel is from KG Halli.
According to police, Kumar had been “teasing and harassing Chezlian by calling him a rapist due to his arrest in the Kammanahalli case”, which irked Chezlian, who’s the sixth accused in the case.
Kumar, a pet dealer in KG Halli, was known to all three accused from childhood. Police said the men confessed to killing Kumar, saying it was an act of revenge for teasing and harassing Chezlian.
Cops said Kumar had distanced himself from Chezlian after he was arrested by Banaswadi police in connection with the molestation case. “For the past six to seven months, Kumar was said to have been calling Chezlian a rapist. Chezlian had taken objection to this but it didn’t stop. He along with his brother and Daniel plotted to take revenge and the plan was executed around 1pm on August 31,” police said. All three accused have been remanded in judicial custody.
