The BBMP has shut down Mantri Mall due to unpaid taxes.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has once again shut the Mantri Square mall due to non-payment of outstanding tax arrears. The BBMP had ordered the mall’s management, which is located in Malleswaram, to pay its tax arrears.
The BBMP revenue division officials arrived at its location on Wednesday and shuttered the mall for non-payment of tax dues because the dues had not been approved by management.
Mantri Square owes the BBMP Rs 51 crore in taxes. The Palike had previously given notifications to the mall management to clear the arrears, but there had been no response.
Finally, on Wednesday, BBMP officials sealed the mall’s main gate and posted a statement outside stating that the property will be locked until the tax dues are paid.
