Residential homes may be used for religious observances without restriction: HC of Karnataka
It was said that a residential neighborhood was being used as a prayer hall, upsetting the nearby residents.
A public interest litigation (PIL) brought by some HBR Layout, Bengaluru, residents who claimed that a residential property was being used for prayers has been dismissed by the High Court of Karnataka.
“Despite our repeated questions, the council was unable to show any such prohibition, prevention in the rules of law, prohibiting an occupant to use the residential place for offering prayer,” the Division Bench of Chief Justice Prasanna B Varale and Justice MGS Kamal recently stated in dismissing the PIL.
