Karnataka Govt makes reading of Preamble mandatory in schools, colleges

On Thursday, the Karnataka Congress administration made the Preamble to the Constitution a daily requirement for all public and private schools and institutions.

On Friday, Vidhana Soudha, the state Assembly, hosted a reading of the Preamble in honor of International Democracy Day. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was there. (ANI)

As part of the celebrations for the “International Day of Democracy,” the Karnataka government staged a massive event on Friday that included reading the Constitution’s preamble simultaneously to thousands of participants from India and overseas in Bengaluru.

A big number of youngsters and those in front of them joined in unison as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah read the prologue from the great steps of the “Vidhan Soudha” here to start the celebrations, along with Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and several other dignitaries. (PTI)
