Bengaluru Police removed ‘Electricity Thief’ banners from outside the JD(S) Head Office in Bengaluru on Tuesday night.
The posters surfaced after an FIR was filed against JD(S) leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on charges of electricity theft for connecting his residence’s Diwali lights to an electricity pole.
The FIR was lodged when personnel from Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) made a complaint at the BESCOM Vigilance Jayanagar Police Station
The Congress claimed that HD Kumaraswamy unlawfully linked his JP Nagar residence’s Diwali lights to an electric pole. The Congress has uploaded a video and a photo about it.
BESCOM officers conducted an assessment at the former Chief Minister’s residence after the video became viral on social media.
