The pollution control board fined Bharat Petroleum ₹2 crore and Indian Oil ₹1 crore.
The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) were fined by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) for failing to install pollution control equipment. IOC was fined ₹1 crore, while BPCL was penalized ₹2 crore.
They were punished for failing to install Vapour Recovery Systems at their gas pumps within the time frames set by the Supreme Court and the CPCB.
