A passport agency owned by suspects who were detained for giving Indian papers to wanted Sri Lankans was raided by the CCB.
The Central Crime Branch (CCB) searched the passport agent’s office on August 31 after he was detained in connection with the finding of three fugitive Sri Lankan citizens’ possession of genuine passports. They confiscated a number of forged documents he had used to produce identification for the Sri Lankans who had been arrested.
The 53-year-old accused Anbazhagan M. operated Horizon Enterprises in Koramangala’s S. T. Bed Layout. Several passports, Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, birth certificates, bank account information, driving licenses, rental agreements, and two current Indian passports in the names of Sri Lankan citizens Jalal Mohammed Siddique and Dhanesh Selvaraj were discovered during a CCB Economic Offence Wing raid on the office.
Anbazhagan admitted to the police that he would produce all the required paperwork, including fictitious domicile certificates, to enable Sri Lankan citizens to obtain an Indian passport, which he would then use to apply for visas to other nations.
