The metro rail timings in Bengaluru will be extended on the days when Indian Premier League (IPL) matches are scheduled at Chinnaswamy stadium, announced the metro department. The Chinnaswamy stadium will be hosting IPL matches on April 2, 10, 17, 26 and May 21, to which the BMRCL (Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation) is expecting huge footfalls in the metro trains.

The train services of Baiyappanahalli – Kengeri and Nagasandra – Silk Institues will be extended till 1 am and the last train from the Majestic metro station will leave at 1.30 am. This move is expected to help those people who use the metro to travel to Chinnaswamy stadium to avoid the parking woes and peak time Bengaluru traffic.
