Akshay Kumar’s next movie Mission Raniganj – The Great Bharat Rescue, released by Pooja Entertainment, features the real-life hero of India’s first coal mine rescue operation.
The 56-second teaser transports us to the Raniganj coalfield on November 13, 1989, and shows how a routine day for a group of miners turns into a nightmare. Heavy rain causes water to gush inside the mine, trapping the miners underground.
The character of Akshay Kumar, a Sikh guy who helps the miners, is subsequently introduced in the clip. The actor would be portraying real-life mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, who had rescued at least 65 miners trapped in a flooded coal mine in West Bengal’s Raniganj in 1989, however, the character’s name was not revealed in the teaser.
We also witness a number of other characters from the movie, such as the trapped miners’ families and those who were battling for their lives. Jo bole so initial is the last line Akshay Kumar says in the trailer. Before emerging from the sea, say “Sat Sri Akal.” Download
