ISRO successfully completed the first test flight of the Gaganyaan mission.
On Saturday from Sriharikota, ISRO completed the maiden test flight for the Gaganyaan mission. It tested the safety features that will let the Gaganyaan crew leave if there is a problem and the mission has to be abandoned. Prior to takeoff, the test flight was suspended five seconds before liftoff.
Three crew members will be sent on this trip to a 400-kilometer orbit. X (previously Twitter): swipe left more than a few hours ago.
The Gaganyaan mission’s maiden test flight by ISRO was aborted five seconds before the launch time that was set for today. If the rocket were to malfunction, the Flight Test Vehicle Abort Mission 1 (TV-D1) would have shown if the crew could safely escape. The Gaganyaan mission seeks to launch people into a 400-kilometer orbit and retrieve them three days later.
