IPL 2023: Bengaluru police issue parking restrictions around Chinnaswamy stadium

The Bengaluru traffic police announced that they made adequate facilities to manage the traffic around Chinnaswamy stadium, ahead of the IPL match on April 2. The traffic department also restricted parking in a few areas of Central Bengaluru, expecting large crowds thronging into the stadium.

The parking is not allowed in Queens Road, MG Road, Rajbhavan Road, Central Street Road, Cubbon Road, St. Marks Road, Museum Road, Kasturiba Road, Ambedkar Veedi Road, Trinity Junction Road, Lavelle Road, Vittal Malya Road and Nrupatunga Road.

However, visitors can park their vehicles at Kings Road, UB City parking lot, BMTC TTMC Shivajinagar 1st floor, and old KGID building, Kanteerava Stadium and BRV ground. The Chinnaswamy stadium will be hosting IPL matches on April 2, 10, 17, 26 and May 21.

The metro department has also extended the timings of metro trains till 1am to cater for the IPL fans who visit the stadium to watch the cricket match. BMRCL also announced that paper tickets will be issued on these days for those who board and deboard at MG Road and Cubbon Park metro stations, from where the Chinnaswamy stadium can be accessed. “These paper tickets are priced at ₹50/- and are valid for a single journey from Cubbon Park & MG Road metro station to any Metro Station on Baiyappanahalli – Kengeri and Nagasandra – Silk Institute sections on the day of the cricket matches from 8.00 pm onwards and till the extended hours on the following day,” said BMRCL in announcement.
