After HD Deve Gowda commented on the “JDS-BJP tie-up” it sparked a dispute in Kerala
Dev Gowda clarified that he never claimed that the dominant Left party in the neighboring state supported the alliance. Despite criticism from Muslim party members, the veteran JD(S) leader said that all of the party’s state units in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka have approved of the alliance.
As a result of C M Ibrahim’s refusal to support the BJP party in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Gowda disbanded the party’s Karnataka chapter and fired the state president of the JD(S).
