‘GTA VI’ footage was released by a teen using an Amazon Fire TV stick in a hotel room, a UK court was informed.

An 18-year-old hacker used an Amazon Fire TV stick in his hotel room to leak footage from the unfinished “Grand Theft Auto VI,” according to testimony given in a UK court. While out on bail for allegedly hacking NVIDIA, Arion Kurtaj of the hacker collective Lapsus$ published the video. Kurtaj was found guilty by the court of hacking significant tech companies, including Uber.

Kurtaj, a young man of 18, broke into Rockstar Games, the studio that created GTA VI. Surprisingly, he brashly identified himself as the “attacker” on the company’s Slack channel. Strangely, the Travelodge hotel room where he had been housed by authorities was the location of his hacking.

He had been transferred there after hackers jeopardized his safety by posting his personal information online. According to BBC News, Kurtaj cleverly exploited the Fire TV Stick to get around the prohibition on internet access.
