‘Iske Bag Mein Bomb Hai’: Couple’s Joke Delays Goa Bangalore Flight by 90 Minutes, Arrested

On Tuesday, a couple was arrested and prohibited from boarding a Goa-Bengaluru flight after the woman passenger mumbled the word “bomb” during a security check inside the airport.

The passengers, Atul Kumar Kevat (29) of Madhya Pradesh and Pritiya Jana (29) of Kolkata, were detained by Goa Police for causing a bomb alarm and delaying an IndiGo aircraft to Bengaluru for 90 minutes.

The travelers were apprehended by airport security workers at Goa’s Dabolim airport and then handed over to detectives, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Salim Shaikh.

According to Shaikh, the woman casually said, ‘Iske bag mein bomb hai’ [there is a bomb] around 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

As a result, all baggage was inspected, and the aircraft was delayed. The baggage of the travelers was thoroughly inspected, and all security standards were followed. They were then denied access to the plane by security.

“The flight was cleared to take off only the following morning [Wednesday],” he told reporters.

“The Indigo Airport manager at Goa’s Dabolim Airport has filed a complaint.” The complaint has been received. “The two passengers have been detained under Section 505 of the Indian Penal Code [public mischief], and further investigations are underway,” Shaikh added.
