The Chandrayaan-3 project marked a crucial turning point in its space mission with the accomplishment of a successful soft landing on the surface of the Moon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed this accomplishment the “dawn of new India,” and he would now personally thank the scientists at the Telemetry, Tracking and Command Centre (ISTRAC) of the Indian Space Research Organisation in Bengaluru this morning.

PM Modi, who watched the lander module’s touch down online, praised the historic gentle landing and declared that “India is now on the moon.”

India was among the top four countries to carry out a soft landing on the moon’s surface thanks to ISRO’s historic feat, and it was the first country to travel close to the Moon’s uncharted south pole.
