A scooterist who was doing wheelies with a loud exhaust was detained by police.
Around nine in the morning on August 28, a group of plainclothes officers made the arrest of the suspect along Nagarabhavi’s Outer Ring Road.
Police have asked the transportation department to suspend both his driver’s license and the title for the car in light of the occurrence.
Investigations showed that the scooter in question, a Honda Dio with the license plate KA 02 JY 1586, had a hard cylinder in its modified exhaust system. It was also missing a front license plate.
Many people have reported the suspect’s actions as jeopardizing the lives of other road users, according to the traffic police.
The offender has been charged under the relevant sections of the Indian Motor Vehicles Act as well as IPC Section 279 (rash and negligent driving).
