Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is slated to unveil Yuvanidhi, the government’s fifth pre-poll assurance, in Shivamogga today. People who remain unemployed after completing their graduation and diploma courses in 2023 will be eligible for a two-year allowance under the system. As part of the policy, degree holders receive Rs 3,000 per month in jobless support, while certificate holders receive Rs 1,500.
The government will begin crediting the allowance to eligible candidates through direct benefit transfer today. So far, over 65,000 registrations have been recorded under the system. Around 5.3 lakh people who completed graduation and diploma degrees between 2022 and 2023 are eligible to benefit from the plan. Those pursuing higher education are ineligible for the scheme.
