BJP Leads in 11 Seats in Karnataka as Postal Ballots Are Counted.

BENGALURU: As postal ballots were counted first in Karnataka’s 28 Lok Sabha segments, the BJP led by 11 seats, the Congress by four, and the JD(S) by two.

JD(S) leader and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi (BJP) led in the Mandya and Dharwad Lok Sabha segments, according to official sources. At 8 a.m., counting began in 29 centers across the state.

Karnataka is the most crucial state for the BJP in south India because it has previously held power there. In the 2019 general election, the Congress gained only one of the State’s 28 seats. The BJP had dominated the previous Lok Sabha elections, winning 25 seats, while an independent supported by it also won.

JD(S), led by former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, had won one constituency. The Congress and the JD(S) were governing a coalition government at the time, and they fought the election together.
