ROURKELA/BHUBANESWAR: Ten people died of suspected heatstroke in Odisha’s Rourkela city on Thursday, as temperatures soared across the eastern state, officials said.
Dr. Sudharani Pradhan, the director-in-charge (DIC) of Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH), stated that the deaths occurred for six hours beginning at 2 p.m.
“Eight persons perished by the time they arrived at the hospital, and the others died while being treated here. “This was most likely due to the intense heatwave,” she explained.
