According to PTI, Income Tax sleuths found a large stockpile of undeclared cash from a contractor’s house in Bengaluru on Friday. Raids are being conducted on the homes of other contractors in the city, and the large sums of money recovered are causing a political uproar in both Karnataka and Telangana.
According to the report, a total of 42 crore in 500 denominations was recovered from a contractor in Bengaluru in 23 cartons. The Income Tax Department, on the other hand, has yet to publish the official amount recovered from their many operations across the city.
BJP claimed that the Congress party was attempting to shift funds to poll-bound Telangana. “The amount was collected by the Congress party to send to Telangana for the upcoming polls,” claimed BJP leader and former deputy CM Ashwath Narayan. The Congress government has designated Karnataka as their ‘ATM’ for other states’ elections. This is only a sample amount; a larger amount remains to be recovered. I strongly urge contractors to speak up on this subject.”
