Recently, Tejasvi Surya wrote to the CM requesting that the state government make modifications to the rules to encourage carpooling and lessen traffic congestion. Surya’s stance, meanwhile, didn’t sit well with the taxi and car unions.

 

The MP’s position, according to Radhakrishna Holla, head of the Karnataka State Travel Owners’ Association, is in opposition to the traditional taxi operator who obtains licenses, pays taxes, meets insurance costs, and other charges. “We adhere to governmental regulations. On city roads, there are more than 2.5 lakh motor cabs, maxicabs, and cars transporting workers for businesses. How can these drivers maintain their businesses if you let everyone use their personal vehicles to transport passengers? The MP’s position is false and adverse to drivers.
