Bengaluru City Commissioner: CCTV cameras must be installed in restaurants and pubs.

Bengaluru City Commissioner B Dayananda has advised restaurants, bars, and IT companies with a footfall of more than 100 persons to install CCTV cameras as a matter of course to ensure safety. Owners of public venues who fail to install cameras will face penalties, according to Dayananda.

On Saturday, he spoke at the ‘Masika Janasamparka’ – a public assembly – held at Ambedkar Bhavan in Yelahanka New Town. Dayananda said that the Public Safety Act requires proprietors of public venues with more than a hundred visitors each day to install CCTV cameras. Failure to observe those guidelines will result in sanctions.
