Bengaluru residents will receive SMS from BBMP who have unpaid property taxes.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will now send SMS, letters, or reminders to people who have arrears or are past due on their property taxes to remind them to pay the taxes on time.
According to the BBMP, property tax is the primary and main source of revenue for the BBMP and is essential for the civic body’s operation and service delivery.

The BBMP expects to collect 24,790 crore in property tax, including cess, in fiscal year 2023-24.
