Piyush Goyal Unveils Dedicated National Helpline to Empower Startups
New Delhi, April 6 — In a significant move to bolster India’s startup ecosystem, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday announced the launch of a national helpline aimed at addressing the concerns of startups and promoting a more responsive regulatory environment.
As part of this initiative, a dedicated Startup India Desk will be established to act as a centralized grievance and support system. The helpline will allow startup founders to report challenges they face while dealing with government officials or to suggest improvements in existing regulatory frameworks.
“Our goal is to ensure that the entrepreneurial spirit of young India is not stifled by bureaucratic hurdles,” said Goyal. “If you encounter any issue with government processes or have ideas for policy reform, just pick up the phone and call. We are here to listen and act.”
In a further boost to funding opportunities, Goyal revealed that the government has approved a second ₹10,000 crore Fund of Funds (FoF) for startups. This fund is expected to inject critical capital into the early- and growth-stage startup landscape, fostering innovation and job creation across sectors.
With this two-pronged approach—streamlining support and increasing access to funding—the government aims to position India as a global hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
