Ground Zero Movie: BSF Jawans Watch Emraan Hashmi’s Film at Historic Srinagar Premiere

The much-anticipated Ground Zero movie had a historic and emotional premiere on Friday as Border Security Force (BSF) jawans in Srinagar were treated to a special screening. The screening was attended by the film’s lead cast and crew, including Emraan Hashmi, Sai Tamhankar, director Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, and producers Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and co-producer Arhan Bagati. The presence of the film team made the event even more memorable for the jawans, who are central to the film's storyline.

In Ground Zero, Emraan Hashmi portrays BSF commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, who is tasked with a high-stakes mission in Kashmir during the early 2000s. Sai Tamhankar plays his supportive wife, bringing emotional depth to the storyline. The film is inspired by real events and focuses on the covert operation that led to the elimination of the dreaded terrorist mastermind, Ghazi Baba.

Backed by Excel Entertainment, the Ground Zero movie is a powerful tribute to the courage and commitment of the BSF. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, and co-produced by a team that includes Kassim Jagmagia, Vishal Ramchandani, Sundeep C Sidhwani, Arhan Bagati, and others, the film is slated to hit theatres on April 25, 2025.

Speaking about the film at the premiere, Emraan Hashmi described Ground Zero as a “significant milestone” in Indian cinema. “We’ve seen stories about the Indian Army and police, but this is the first time a movie has been made solely to honour the BSF. That makes it special,” he told ANI. He further stressed the importance of telling such stories that highlight the untold sacrifices made by India’s border security personnel.

Director Tejas Deoskar echoed the sentiment, saying that Ground Zero aims to present a realistic and respectful portrayal of the BSF’s crucial role in national security.

The Srinagar screening was met with heartfelt applause and pride from the BSF jawans, many of whom saw their lives reflected on the big screen for the first time. As excitement builds for the theatrical release, the Ground Zero movie stands poised to make a lasting impact—both as a gripping film and a powerful tribute to the unsung heroes of India’s borders.
