Karnataka has announced a 10-day Unboxing Bengaluru Habba event to highlight the finest of the state capital.
DK Shivakumar, Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister, announced Unboxing BLR Habba 2023 on Thursday, an annual celebration that will take place in Bengaluru from December 1 to 11. Over 300 activities will be held in the areas of arts, culture, literature, heritage, technology, the environment, design, dance, music, and drama.
“Bengaluru isn’t just about technology,” Shivakumar added, “it has a very rich legacy of heritage, culture, and environment.” It is our duty to carry on this legacy. Historians have thoroughly documented various age-old traditions in Bengaluru, such as karate and kadlekai parishe. Hundreds of organizations have expressed interest in participating in this festival. The government will provide all conceivable assistance.”
“In Kanakapura, we have been celebrating Kanakothsava’ for a long time. Lakhs of people participate in this event and over 50,000 households draw rangolis. It is important that several government agencies such as the police, BMRCL, BMTC, and Bescom work together with other agencies and the people to make this a grand success,” he added.
Unboxing BLR Habba is envisaged as a privately enabled community and brand-building effort supported by the state government to showcase and celebrate the best of Bengaluru, according to the Unboxing BLR Foundation, the festival’s organizers.
